Am I Drug-Addicted?

ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR USE OF DRUGS? ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE?

This simple 20-question self-test may help you to identify if your drug use is a problem or if a friend or family member may have a problem.

The following questions concern information about your involvement with drugs, including any non-medical or excessive use of prescribed or “over-the-counter” drugs.
Carefully read each statement. When preparing each response, take into consideration your actions over the course of the past 12 months. This test does not include questions about alcohol use. To take a self-test focused specifically on alcohol please use the NCADD test: „Am I Alcoholic?“

The results of this self-test are not intended to constitute a diagnosis of drug addiction and should be used solely as a guide to understanding your drug use and the potential health issues involved with it. The information provided here cannot substitute for a full evaluation by a health professional. Every „NO“ answer scores 0 points and every „YES“ answer scores 1 point, except for questions 4 and 5, where the scoring is reversed. Decide whether your answer is „NO“ or „YES“ and check the appropriate space. Please be sure to answer every question!
